Our Mission

Who We Are

North Peel Family Health Team is committed to providing the Brampton community with comprehensive and accessible healthcare, effectively and efficiently. We believe this begins with support from dedicated interdisciplinary healthcare providers, with the right skills and expertise, delivering care at the right time.

Simply put, we’re people like you. People who care about their health and the health of their families and community. People who appreciate the value of personal relationships. People who understand the value of time.

That’s why our family physicians, Dr. McCallion, Dr. Manning, Dr. Rogers, and Dr. Tracey, came together with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care in 2009 to form the North Peel Family Health Team.

History

The North Peel Family Health Team (NPFHT) is a group of four family physicians, allied health professionals and  administrative staff, working at three sites, who provide primary care and other health services to approximately 8,100 patients in Brampton. The NPFHT is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

The NPFHT has been incorporated since July 2008 but all of our physicians have been serving the community for more than 20 years, providing primary care for patients from birth to old-age, delivering newborns to arranging palliative care. The North Peel FHT physicians’ offices are located in central Brampton; at Queen/Lynch and at Bramalea/Kensington Rd.

As part of this Ministry of Health initiative, our purpose is to provide a broad range of health-care services that focuses on health promotion, disease prevention and chronic disease management, in addition to traditional primary medical care. Our goals are to enhance access to primary care, to decrease utilization of local hospital emergency departments and to increase the community and individual’s opportunities to improve health locally and for themselves. This increased capacity to meet a variety of community needs is to be supported by five allied professionals in mental health, nursing, nutrition and pharmacy specialties. As part of this purpose, we seek to strengthen and deepen community partnerships with a variety of providers: The Central West Local Health Network, Community Care Access Centre, Peel Public Health, William Osler Health Center and various other private and public groups.

The North Peel Family Health Team is administered by a Board of Directors composed of members of the North Peel Family Health Organization. The executive director reports to the Board, while the allied professionals report to the executive director. Our emphasis is on patients feeling empowered and encouraged to play a central role in their health care and recovery. We are dedicated to achieving excellence in patient care and we wish to foster the development of future healthcare professionals through offering student internship and educational opportunities with our organization and our physician partners.
